Is it worth buying bedding set for my babies?
or should i just buy blankets, fitted sheets and flat sheets separately. i don’t see the point of getting a baby bedding set, as you can’t use the bumpers and quilts. Does that make sense
thanks?

Some people use the quilt and such once the child switches to a toddler bed, but by the time they are a toddler the child has their own taste and probably wants a Dora or Elmo blanket anyway. I would just buy separate pieces so you have exactly what you want and nothing extra to store

I think it's more for looks or a theme, I'm sure you could get by without one.

You can use bumpers, I think that are pretty safe as long as they are securely tied to the bars of the cot, and it is tucked down the side of the mattress, but for a newborn they are not necessity.. As for quilts, my kids just lay on top of them, they just basically looked nice, so no, you don’t *need* them. If I were you, a fitted or flat sheet and a 'grobag' would suffice.

Personally I would choose whatever restricts your babe the least
whatever you do decide please will you wash them over and over to get rid of any loose fibers and chemicals...edit, thumbs-down for caring? Whatever

You don’t actually use those bedding sets with the baby. Only when the baby is out of the crib. So really they're useless.
The comforters are too thick and big, the bumpers aren’t safe, the pillows you can’t have in the crib period... its just a huge waste of money. I've never bothered to buy them. Instead I get a nice theme of sheets, baby blankets and a little matching dust ruffle. Maybe a pretty stuffed animal to stick in the crib
when the baby isn’t in it. Those things are SOOOO expensive- 100+ for bedding you can’t even put baby in. That’s a couple months worth of diapers.

No, you absolutely do not need a bedding set. I've been saying it for years. Bumpers are more of a suffocation hazard than anything I've ever seen, the quilts have almost no use, diaper stackers are laughable - save your money. I also never saw a use for a toddler bed. Let the child pick out their own "theme" when you move them to a twin bed.

There are bedding sets, and then there are bedding sets. Is it worth it to spend hundreds of dollars? No, really it isn't. We never used the comforter in my first daughter's set, and the bumper was useless when she started sitting up/standing - she used it as a step stool and we had to take it off. I realized what a pain the dust ruffle was the first time she puked out the side of her crib and I had to take the whole thing apart. I was always glad I only spent $60 on her set, since we didn't use most of the pieces for that long. But it was nice to have something pretty in the nursery, too.

I would save the money it’s just for looks! i found a set at the second hand store took him and washed it and its good but i would never spend the 100.00 that someone had on it! .Really it’s an easy way for a company to make money! just a nice blanket and some sheets like you said

I bought a set and it’s such a waste. You can’t use the comforter; they don’t recommend using the bumpers so basically all I used out of my set was the sheet and the crib dust ruffle which I could have bought separately.

My twins had quilts and bumpers.....
I used to lay them on top of the quilt and cover them with blankets......
All 4 of my kids had bedding sets and they were all completely fine.....
Basically though the only point of them is to look nice in the room!

I love my set, and when my child isn't in his room and it's done all nice it looks adorable. I use my bumpers b/c my son is crawling and standing in his crib, but I have never used the comforter. I use the crib skirt and sheet and the window valances. So it really depends on how you planning on use all the pieces. My son's room also has wall sticker and wall hanging decorations that match his set so it really brings the room all together. He may not use the comforter, and it may not be practical, but it looks wonderful for when company is over!

I didn't waste money on the bedding sets I just bought sheets & blankets and when they were allowed a duvet at 12 months I bought a 4.5 tog single duvet turned it sideways and tucked half under their mattress. Don't waste money where you don't need to. Someone gave me one bumper & quilt set and it is still in original packaging never been used!
